Six Flags Great America: World’s largest giant loop


Six Flags Great America, Gurnee, Illinois, will introduce the world’s largest loop ride. This 100 foot (30 m) tall Giant Loop from Larson International will take riders forward and backward on a gigantic loop before suspending them completely upside down for extended hang-time. It will have riders traveling in one of 32 unique back-to-back and face-to-face seats. Guests will go through a series of 360° revolutions suspended upside down before reeling down in the opposite direction. The new ride will be named soon and is set to open in spring of 2018.

Six Flags Magic Mountain: CraZanity the world’s tallest pendulum ride


Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, California, has unveiled plans for CraZanity, the world’s tallest pendulum ride. A Zamperla Giant Discovery, it will make its debut in late spring. Forty riders will experience speeds up to 75 mph (121 kph) as they reach a world-record 17 stories high. The pendulum swings back and forth while rotating counterclockwise. As guests swing higher and higher, they will experience a feeling of weightlessness at 172 feet in the air.

Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey, will introduce the world’s fi rst thrill ride themed to the DC Super Hero Cyborg in 2018. A Tourbillon from ABC Rides, it is inspired by the movement of a gyroscope. Cyborg Cyber Spin will deliver an unrelenting and intense anti-gravity experience as it whirls guests on three axes high above the ground. Cyborg Cyber Spin features a unique futuristic triple box design


that allows the gondola to spin around three separate axes while rotating forward, backwards and sideways simultaneously at up to 70 feet (21 m) in the air for intense and continuous movement. Seated 24 across with over-the-shoulder harnesses, riders will experience a thrilling combination of negative and positive gravitational forces. By night the attraction promises to light up the New Jersey skies. Cyborg Cyber Spin is expected to debut in late spring of 2018.

Six Flags Over Georgia, Austell, Georgia, will unveil the Twisted Cyclone, a hybrid roller coaster from Rocky Mountain Construction, in 2018. Twisted Cyclone will offer a classic wooden structure combined with a modern, steel track for multiple inversions and a smoother riding experience. The coaster will measure 2,340 feet (713 m) long and will drop riders 96 feet (29 m) at speeds of 50 mph (80 kph). Riders will be seated in one-of-a-kind custom coaster trains modeled after a classic ‘60s sports convertible.


Six Flags New England, Agawam, Massachusetts, will introduce Harley Quinn Spinsanity in spring 2018. It is a 147 foot (45 m) Zamperla Giant Discovery, an extreme pendulum ride that will swing guests back and forth, higher and higher, at up to 70 miles per hour. Six Flags St. Louis, Eureka, Missouri, will introduce Typhoon Twister, a massive new water attraction, in Hurricane Harbor in 2018. This hybrid, zero gravity slide complex packs two extreme slide thrills into one attraction. Six Flags America, Upper Marlboro, Maryland, will debut Wahoo River, an all-new action-packed river adventure by Aquatic Development Group, in its water park for the 2018 season. The park’s existing Castaway Creek will be completely removed and replaced with the bigger Wahoo River. California’s Waterworld Concord, which rejoined the Six Flags portfolio of parks earlier this year, will debut its biggest new attraction in over a decade with the introduction of Splashwater Island, a large interactive water play area from Whitewater West opening in spring 2018.
