 Blackstone Real Estate Partners acquired a 65% controlling interest in Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., forming a $2.9 billion joint venture with Centerbridge to own the company.


 Notable closings include Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs, California, Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, Kansas, and Water Wizz in Westerly, Rhode Island.


Projections for 2020 Growth of new facilities will be less in 2020 than expected as of February, before the pandemic took hold, as 10 projects have delayed. The information in the graph indicates the projected openings by region as of May 2020. Regionally, the South leads the U.S. with eight projected openings, with the majority of these in Florida or Texas. The Midwest should see five openings, the West three, and the Northeast two. At the time of this writing, no major openings or expansions are anticipated for Canada. The following map highlights the locations of the properties.
