A welcome return to fun and movies

Established as ‘Warner Bros. Movie World’ in 1996, the historical beginnings of Movie Park Germany have been crucial for its DNA as a movie and amusement park. “Ever since,” says Manuel Prossotowicz, director of marketing and sales, “it has kept its USP as Germany’s biggest movie and amusement park.”

M

anuel tells Park World that the the motto ‘Hollywood in Germany’ is still present, having held onto its roots when it was renamed

“Movie Park Germany” in 2005. Since 2010, Movie Park Germany has been part of Parques Reunidos, one of the leading global operators of regional leisure parks with a well-diversified portfolio of more than 60 different assets (theme parks, zoos and marine parks, water parks and other attractions), spread out over 12 countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Australia. Movie Park Germany offers more than 40 attractions

on an area of about 45 hectares. The variety ranges from rapid roller coasters, family-friendly attractions for parents with children and a multitude of entertainment transporting guests into the world of fun and movies. “We also count a bunch of licensed attractions in our portfolio that directly transport the visitors into the world of well-known movies and TV series (for example, Star Trek and PAW Patrol),” says Manuel. with manufacturers and suppliers has been instrumental in its success. “Over the years, we have been able to build a great network with suppliers and manufacturers,” says Manuel. “First of all, when planning a new ride, we exchange ideas with our corporate office in Madrid and identify the type of ride we want to realise. It needs to be suitable for our target group (families) and a good extension of our existing portfolio. Then, we start a pitch process. In the past few years, it has become clear that household names (e.g. MACK Rides) contribute to a positive image of the park in general and grant sustainability of the ride. Apart from a unique experience, it is also important to reduce down times and get spare parts as soon as possible. This is the reason why we love to work with renowned suppliers from Germany and Switzerland on major projects as we have always had great experiences with them. Beyond that, we are well- connected with various major parks in Europe, which allows us to exchange experiences and best practices on ride suppliers.”
