Legoland planned for Korea
with the Gangwon Provincial Government to build a Legoland Park in South Korea, scheduled to open by 2022. Legoland Korea will be situated upon the island of Hajungdo in Chuncheon, located approximately one hour’s journey east of Seoul. The full- scale theme park resort will also incorporate a fully themed Legoland Hotel upon opening.

Yas Waterworld wins coveted award
Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi was named ‘World’s Leading Waterpark’ at the World Travel Awards gala last month. Accepting the award, general manager Bianca Sammut said: “We are committed to continuously upgrading the park, keeping it at the forefront of entertainment and leisure innovation, and creating special water adventures and memories that last a lifetime.”
Europa-Park in record breaker
With over 5.6 million visitors last year, Europa-Park broke its 2017 record. Park owner Roland Mack said: “We are very happy that the guests stayed with us so much despite the fire in May.” “2018 was the year of the largest construction activity for Europa-Park in the more than 230-
year history of the Mack family. The Europa-Park is becoming more and more a trendsetter and is the first operator in Germany to build a second leisure park in Rust with the new water world, Rulantica and the hotel Krønasår.”
New year, new look
Fantasy Island, Ingoldmells, has announced the first of its 2019 developments – a major re-vamp to one of its most thrilling rides, Fantasy Mouse. The ride, a combination of a high-speed rollercoaster and the Waltzers is being developed into one of the world’s only indoor themed rollercoasters of its kind, ‘Ice Mountain’.
