There is no better way to get started on an industry magazine than by getting out there and meeting the people that drive that industry, so I feel very fortunate that days into my role I was on a flight to Orlando, to what was undoubtedly the most exciting trade show of my life. It was also a chance, early on, to meet our North American editor, Paul Ruben, who I had already heard lots about (all good of course, Paul). What I did know, is that he loves to ride, and the
great thing is, he got me riding with him. I never thought for one minute that I would ever allow myself to be hoisted 250 foot in the air, only to plunge back down to earth, superman style, and do it with a smile on my face. But that’s exactly what happened. Thanks to Paul, his years of experience and ‘gentle pressure’ shall we say, I enjoyed a few exhilarating rides before undergoing the Park World initiation, Fun Spot’s Skycoaster. Turn to page 4 to get Paul’s take on it. Back at the Orange County Convention Centre it’s fair to say I was in awe of the creative experiences, projects and people I saw and met. Take a look at the highlights on pages 26-28, then head over to the Park World website to see even more. We’ve got a packed issue for you this month,
which including the first in a new series of Industry Influener features. We kick off with Peter Cliff, creative director, Holovis on page 42. Before I sign off, I’d like to say a huge thank you
to my predecessor Bryony Andrews who helped me prepare for this issue. I hope you enjoy it.
