Park Update

Tell me about the agreement with Jet 2 Holidays - to what extent are you expecting boost in visitors and from which countries in particular? The agreement with tour operator Jet2Holidays provides eight weekly flights from various cities in the United Kingdom to Verona. Next year, larger aircraft will enable a 22% increase in the number of people visiting the area from United Kingdom.

What’s new for 2019 and why? When you think of Gardaland, the extraordinary fantasy adventure immediately springs to mind, and in the Park, in fact, there are many rides and attractions dedicated to the enchanted world of fantasy for younger children, in addition to the impressive rides for created for the spirit of adventure, but there is a third ingredient at Gardaland, and that is Magic. Therefore, 2019 will be devoted to the theme of Magic, first and foremost with the inauguration of Gardaland Magic Hotel, the third entirely themed hotel for which a budget of Euro 20 million has been set aside. The hotel will comprise 128 rooms, divided into three types, Crystal, Magic and the Great Wizard. And Magic will also be present in the new attraction for

children to inaugurated in the Park, The Enchanted Forest, which will take children along an enchanted path accompanied by apprentice magicians, where they will meet talking trees, giant mushrooms, moving flowers and a wicked witch who wants to transform everything into stone. Amongst the other novelties for 2019, there will be a new

show, Magic Elements, with special effects, incredible acrobatics and suggestive choreography, as well as the Sequoia Magic Loop, a thrilling ride that reaches a maximum height of about 30 metres above the ground, while repeatedly turning through 180° S-bends as guests experience riding totally upside-down.

What has been your biggest challenge as a theme park operator? The biggest challenge for Gardaland has been – both in the Park and with accommodation - that of remaining innovative, unique and competitive for a public that is highly heterogeneous and diversified. Every year, this means performing better and better. On the one hand, we need to become increasingly international, and on the other, there is the challenge of being increasingly attractive for the Italian public.

Finally, what has been your biggest achievement? The launch of the Gardaland Adventure Hotel in 2016, where 100 rooms were added, and this season Gardaland has achieved record results: a 5% increase on last year, a total room occupancy of 85%in both hotels during the 2018 season with 58.4% Italian guests. In particular, this year we have recaptured the Italian public as visitors to the park after a period of crisis with the domestic market, which is also thanks to day-trippers with annual passes.
