New play centre for Jesperhus Feriepark
Jesperhus Feriepark has invested heavily over the last few years in enhancing guests’ themed experience at the park, for example by theming its brand new water park to match the world of the IP Jungledyret Hugo. Now it has invested again, this time
in a themed play centre with creative characters produced by MK Themed Attractions. Jesperhus Feriepark had several ideas for updating the themed
experience at the park in 2019, and decided to involve visitors in the decision-making process. “We asked our followers on Facebook to tell us which of our theming ideas they wanted us to make a reality for 2019, and it became very clear that they wanted the world of Zik and Zak come to life,” said the park’s managing director Peter Overgaard. As a result, the new play centre will be named ‘Zik and Zak’s Abeland’ and will include several creative characters produced by MK Attractions including the famous Danish IP characters Zik and Zak, Hugo, Rita, Dellekaj, and the park’s brand new character Dr. Træls, who has been well- received by the guests at the park. In addition, the theme production specialist will also produce dolphins, a boat, a tractor and letters, lianas and other IP characters for the play centre’s brand new façade.

ICON scoops gold
Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Rule5 PR are celebrating after winning a Gold award at the North West CIPR PRide Awards for Best Travel, Leisure and Tourism campaign for ‘A new ICON for Blackpool’. The campaign was developed to announce the name, raise awareness and build anticipation for Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s new £16.25 rollercoasterwhich opened in May 2018. On the submission, the judges stated that, “The use of motion graphics was an
innovative solution in building anticipation of an incomplete ride. Interactive press packs were also on brand and numerous news hooks delivered by the team resulted in incredible national and multi-platform coverage. To date, the impact of the campaign has delivered impressive results and will undoubtedly go on to achieve much more!” On winning the award, Amanda Thompson OBE, managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said, “I’m delighted that our team have won such a prestigious award for the ICON launch campaign. The ride has been a huge success with many people visiting Blackpool Pleasure Beach to experience the UK’s only double launch rollercoaster.”
