WOODEN COASTERS Six Flags Over Georgia: Twisted Cyclone, a hybrid roller coaster from Rocky Mountain Construction offering a classic wooden structure and modern, steel track, for multiple inversions and a smoother ride. Cedar Point’s FrontierTown, Ohio:
Steel Vengeance, the tallest, fastest and longest hybrid roller coaster in the world opens for riders. At more than 200 feet (61 m) tall, the new hybrid design from Rocky Mountain Construction combines a steel running track on a massive wooden structure that provides an extremely smooth and comfortable ride.
Wood and steel intertwine into twisting barrel roll drops, dynamic inversions and gravity-defying weightlessness on Kings Dominion’s newest hybrid roller coaster, Twisted Timbers another Rocky Mountain Construction installation, set to open at the Doswell, Virginia, park.
Sesame Place, Langhorne, Pennsylvania, which is America’s only theme park based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, will introduce its first wooden roller coaster, Oscar's Wacky Taxi. From The Gravity Group, the new coaster is one of the largest new attractions in the park's 37-year history and will feature a bright yellow, taxi cab-inspired train with everyone's favorite grouch at the helm.
