COVER STORY – MERKUR

have just gone live in Europe and Latin America, including Paw Link and Dimension Link from our Lighthouse studios, as well as several standout titles from our Gaming Arts studio, such as Wild Temple, Glory of Giza and Casino Wizard. In addition, we are fortunate to see some very strong performance from our Spintec portfolio across various jurisdictions in Latin America. For me, this is a very exciting time because we now have a much broader and more diverse product offering. And this is just the beginning, as there is so much more to come.

Latin America is a highly diverse region, with signifi cant differences between individual markets. How important is it for MERKUR to understand and respond to local player preferences and market requirements when developing its product offering? I think it is absolutely critical. Latin America is not one market, and I don’t believe you can be successful in the region by simply taking a product that works elsewhere and expecting it to work everywhere.

The operators know their markets extremely well, and they understand what their players want. So, for us as a supplier, listening to them and understanding those local preferences is essential.

At the same time, I think there is a balance. We shouldn’t try to reinvent everything for every individual market. We need to combine the strengths and quality of the MERKUR GROUP, with its game studios and expertise from around the world, with the fl exibility to adapt our offering to what works locally.

For me, that close connection with the operators is key. The better we understand their challenges and their players, the better we can develop products that actually add value. And ultimately, that is how we build long-term partnerships and become a key player in the market.

How would you describe the current state of the gaming industry in Latin America? I would describe the Latin American gaming industry as a very dynamic and increasingly sophisticated market. What has impressed me most over the years is the quality of the operators. Operating in Latin America comes with a unique set of challenges, and many of the operators have become real masters at navigating them.

At the same time, what I really enjoy is the people and the way they work. Despite the complexity and the challenges, there is real enthusiasm and energy in the market. The people are very passionate about what they do, very entrepreneurial, and genuinely nice to work with.

For me, that combination of sophisticated operators, challenging market conditions and a very positive and entrepreneurial spirit makes Latin America a particularly exciting market to be part of. I therefore feel very fortunate to be part of this market as a supplier and partner.

Looking ahead to 2027, what are MERKUR’s key ambitions and priorities for the region? Our ambition is very clear: we want MERKUR to become a leading player in the Latin American

Paw Link made its debut at this year’s ICE in Barcelona and proved very popular with visitors to the fair

market and one of the fi rst companies that operators think of when they are looking for high-quality gaming products and solutions. But for me, leadership is not simply about market share or the number of installations. It is about becoming a partner that operators can rely on and that contributes to the success of their operations. We want to understand their needs, respond to their challenges and bring products that genuinely add value to their business.

And ultimately, it all comes back to the player. Our aim is to offer operators great products, but above all, to give players exciting and entertaining games that they genuinely want to play.
