al como se preveía, el Mundial de futbol 2026 ha producido grandes resultados para el mercado de apuestas en la región, y desde Argentina, la Agencia de Recaudación y Control Aduanero (ARCA) reporta recaudación de unos AR$17.800 millones (US$12 millones) a partir del impuesto indirecto sobre apuestas y juegos online, con un salto del 27,8% mensual en términos reales, anticipándose sede ya, que se mantenga una tendencia alcista en futuro. Asimismo, el Servicio Federal de Impuestos de Brasil anuncio la recaudación de R$ 7,284 mil millones (US$1,435 millones) por tributación de las apuestas deportivas y juegos de azar online entre enero y junio de 2026, lo cual significa un incremento de 83,31% al registrado en el mismo período de 2025, cuando el total fue de R$ 3,974 millones. Los ingresos del gobierno procedentes de las Bets en junio fueron R $ 1,385 mil millones, en contra R $ 900 millones de junio 2025, lo que representa un aumento del 73,12%.
Igualmente, la fiebre mundialista se dio en Colombia con un récord en las apuestas deportivas digitales en el país, cuando se habrían apostado cerca de $5,3 billones (US$1,666 millones), recursos que se tradujeron en una transferencia estimada de entre $120 mil y $150 mil millones (US$38- US$47 millones) para financiar el sistema de salud.
Y justo antes de ir a imprenta nos llega información que el empresario Jaime Vives Pinedo fue designado como nuevo presidente de Coljuegos, en un nuevo paso de su trayectoria del sector privado hacia la administración pública nacional. Dede ya le deseamos al doctor Vives Pinedo felicitaciones por el nombramiento y su nueva gestión en Coljuegos.

In Argentina the Customs Collection and Control Agency reported collections of about AR$17,800 million (US$12 million) from indirect tax on online betting and gambling, showing a 27.8% monthly jump and anticipating an upward trend in the future. Likewise, the Brazilian Federal Tax Service announced collection of R$ 7,284 billion (US$1,435 million) from taxation of sports betting and online gambling between January and June 2026. This means an increase of 83.31% compared to the same period of 2025, when the total was R$ 3,974 million. In similar fashion, the World Cup fever gave Colombia record receipts from digital sports betting, when nearly COL$5.3 billion (US$1.666 billion) was wagered in the period, which resulted in
resources for the Health Service of between COL$120 and COL$150 billion (US$38-US$47 million).
And just before going to press, we have received information that businessman Jaime Vives Pinedo has been appointed as the new Coljuegos president, in a new step in his career from the private sector to national public administration. We wish Dr. Vives Pinedo congratulations on the appointment and his new management at Coljuegos.
We will begin October in Las Vegas as G2E 2026 ends on the 1st, after the start of the expo on Monday 28th; and from there we go to GAT Expo Bogota on October 15th, and the following week to Lima, Peru for the regulators event presented by IAGR Annual Conference 2026, over October 19-22.
