El Grupo Cipriani habría ofrecido US$160M por Enjoy Punta del Este
La noticia de que el Grupo Cipriani habría presentado una oferta de US$160 millones para adquirir el Enjoy Punta del Este —uno de los complejos hoteleros y casinos más emblemáticos de Uruguay— ha generado un amplio eco en toda Latinoamérica, alimentando especulaciones sobre las intenciones del consorcio internacional, que actualmente desarrolla su propio megaproyecto al otro lado del lujoso resort uruguayo.
El Grupo Cipriani, reconocido mundialmente por sus hoteles y restaurantes de lujo, estaría ya en conversaciones para la compra del hotel y casino, actualmente propiedad del fondo chileno Moneda Asset Management. La propiedad había pertenecido anteriormente a Caesars Entertainment, y tras su adquisición, Enjoy habría invertido cerca de US$200 millones en el complejo, y buscaría recibir esta suma.
El Grupo Cipriani tiene en marcha un ambicioso plan de inversión de US$500 millones en Punta del Este, que incluye la construcción del Cipriani Resort, Residences y Casino, actualmente en obra en el predio del histórico Hotel San Rafael, así como el proyecto Locanda Punta del Este, que contempla otro hotel y una academia. De concretarse la operación, la compra de Enjoy Punta del Este ampliaría de forma significativa la presencia del Grupo Cipriani en la región y podría redefinir el panorama del turismo de lujo y del sector de casinos en la principal ciudad balnearia de Uruguay.

Cipriani Group offers US$160 Million for Enjoy Punta del Este
Reports across Latin America indicate that the Cipriani Group has submitted an offer of US$160 million to acquire the Enjoy Punta del Este hotel and casino, one of Uruguay’s most iconic gaming and tourism properties. The news has sparked intense industry speculation, given the strategic location of Cipriani’s own large-scale development directly down from the resort. The potential acquisition would represent a major milestone for the Cipriani Group, globally recognised for its luxury hotels and fine-dining establishments. According to regional sources, the company is already engaged in conversations regarding the possible purchase. Enjoy Punta del Este is currently owned by Chilean investment fund Moneda Asset Management, which took over the asset after the previous operator, Caesars Entertainment, exited the property. Upon acquisition, Enjoy reportedly invested around US$200 million, and would aim to recover this investment.
Cipriani’s presence in Punta del Este is already significant. The group is currently advancing a US$500 million development plan that includes the Cipriani Resort, Residences & Casino, being built on the site of the historic Hotel San Rafael, as well as the Locanda Punta del Este project, which will include an additional hotel and academy.
If completed, the acquisition of Enjoy Punta del Este would drastically expand the group’s footprint in the region and potentially reshape the luxury hospitality and gaming market in Uruguay’s most exclusive coastal destination.
