I’m looking forward to G2E this year. The sights, the sounds, the smells of good old Las Vegas… The city is enjoying what appears to be the start of a renaissance, with new building projects, shelved projects that are finally moving along, and the awesome new sports stadium looking really wonderful. It’s becoming much more of a leisure destination rather than a gambling destination, and as a result a much better place for the people that live there year-round. The north – Stratosphere – end of the Strip is looking particularly good over the next several years, with SLS rebranded Sahara, Genting on the way, and the Strat’s own redevelopment all putting bums on seats. Soon, the south end will be seen as the poor cousin, despite having some of the most fun and best-value on-Strip properties. It’s an exciting time to go to Vegas – but then, when isn’t it an exciting time to visit Las Vegas? If you’re at G2E, be sure to say hi if you see us on the show floor.
