rinter manufacturer, swissQprint, has launched a range of flatbeds that reportedly work 23% faster than its predecessors. The Kudu, Nyala 5 and Impala 5 models are the fifth generation of swissQprint’s flatbed printers.
Based on completely reworked specifications, the new equipment can hit top speeds of 341m sq/hr The printers come equipped with linear motors that help to make printing performance faster and more precise. Chief sales and marketing officer, Carmen Eischer, said: “With the latest print heads and a resolution of 1350dpi,

the new generation delivers outstanding print quality.
“We have always pursued a combination of performance with high output quality and the new printers are exemplary of that.”
The printers also come with 10 freely configurable colour channels, coming with white and light colours, spot colours such as neon or orange, and effect varnish and primer to add to the range of applications.
The new models are available with a three-year warranty and there are currently more than 100 customers already using them.
Demonstrations are taking place both
at the company’s headquarters and numerous distribution partners. The hardware will also be on show in upcoming trade events.
Global Graphics and Mimaki announce partnership extension
lobal Graphics has announced it is extending its partnership with Mimaki as it will continue to provide the printer company with its trademark software.
Mimaki, which is a Japanese manufacturer of inkjet printers, will continue to license the software company’s Harlequin Core technology for its latest RasterLink Raster Image Processor (RIP) software which drives its range of wide-format, roll-to-roll and flatbed industrial printers.
Harlequin Core is widely acknowledged as the fastest RIP on the market. It converts a page description language
into a format that can be interpreted by a printing device, such as an inkjet printhead, toner marking engine or laser plate setter.
Additional capabilities include full support for the latest platforms, latest PDF specifications and extended colour gamut printing.

The sign maker based in Eastbourne has been at the forefront of its industry for 35 years and hopes its newly forged partnership with Marabu and its digital inks will make its product more attractive to customers. The company currently uses Mara Jet DI-FLS and Mara Jet DI-FSX for its Roland printers and Ultra
Jet DUV-GR for its Canon OCE Arizona printer.
Signtek’s Vicky Shepherd, said: “We have already recognised the many advantages of working with Marabu and their digital inks.
“In addition to the first-class support and service, the inks help us produce a high-quality finished product, and have also enhanced our efficiency.” Signtek offers powder coating, CNC cutting, plasma cutting and metalworking in its sign making process, and also boasts a vehicle wrapping bay and digital printing studio where it operates wide and large format printers.
