Spandex explores the reflective market with new acquisition

pandex is set to grow into the reflective material market after buying out a


UK business.


The company has completed the acquisition of Lakeside Group, a Clevedon-based supplier of reflective street signage, license plates, street furniture, and vehicle livery. The buyout was a strategic move from Spandex as it looks to enter the specialised market, hoping to capitalise on the expected growth within the sector. Lakeside Group has more than 15 years of experience in the industry and

has created a reputation for exceptional service to a diverse client base, including local authorities and commercial clients, and has developed in-house testing and converting capabilities.


Paul Cooper, chief operating officer of Spandex, said: “Lakeside’s technical expertise and market knowledge perfectly complement our existing capabilities, enabling us to expand our portfolio.” Scott Horne, managing director of Lakeside Group, added: “Having started in this market over 30 years ago, this integration feels like a natural evolution for Lakeside.

“We’re excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring to our customers, people and the industry at large.” Mr Horne will continue in his role at Lakeside Group, which will operate independently in the immediate term as part of the Spandex family.


Business leaders visit Roland DG’s DIMENSE Showcase


usiness leaders, interior designers, and creators were invited by Roland DG to attend its DG DIMENSE Unleashed: Art Meets Decor event on November 28. The printer company welcomed attendees to the Creative Centre and dedicated DG DIMENSE EMEA hub, in Serris, Paris.


The event gave the guests an opportunity to experience the Dimensor S printer firsthand – a piece of hardware that combines printing and embossing in a single pass; creating 3D textures and allowing for more possibilities in wallpaper canvases, paintable wall coverings, and digital concrete.

Unleashed Product Showcase, which was led by Sandra Morkevi, head of region at DG DIMENSE, and Michel Van Vliet, VP of business development. It featured live demonstrations and a guided walk-through of the Dimensor S’s applications. Attendees were also invited to roll up their sleeves during the Paintable Dimense Decor Workshop, where they explored

The global supplier of printing inks highlighted several features including its proactive stance on Human Rights, its newly introduced business partner’s Code of Conduct, and its developments in the company’s carbon emissions. It has successfully completed a comprehensive carbon audit with TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH, which

included validation of its Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).


This third-party certification ensures full transparency and reliability of its carbon data.


Siegwerk’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2025 remains steadfast, with ambitious targets validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).


One final highlight of the report is the company’s announcement to expand its CIRKIT product range.


These innovative coatings provide essential functionalities such as barriers and sealability while ensuring compatibility with circular economy principles.
