www.graphtecgb.co.uk LKH Tools The original and still the best for cutting aluminium

The MP Superior coated routing tool for dry-cutting aluminium was first launched in 2018 and has proven to be the tool of choice for sign-makers and aluminium fabricators across the globe. The unique coating on the MP Superior tool is exclusive to the Crown Norge range and is sold by LKH Tools in the UK. It allows any CNC routing machine to cut aluminium without the need for coolant. The coating reduces heat created during the cutting process and efficiently produces chips for easy extraction to the dust collection system.

Using uncoated tooling with coolant can be a messy process which requires cleaning down the machine and components after cutting. In most cases, the tool will bind up with aluminium if the coolant runs out.

The Superior coating eliminates the need for oils or coolant during cutting.

Although other suppliers have since introduced similar-looking tooling, the performance, cut quality and longevity of the Superior coated tools set them apart from the competition. The finish, on even the most basic of machines, is burr free, and requires no secondary finishing process.

Feed rates of three to 10 metres per minute (315 to 393 inches per minute) on large profiles are achieved in 3mm aluminium in a single cut with the 6mm diameter tool; and three to four meters per minute with the 3mm diameter tool. In direct testing, the MP Superior tools have proven to last three to four times longer than the others on the market. The range has been increased and is now available in a wider selection of diameters and dimensions to allow for the variety of thicknesses available in aluminium – ranging from 2mm to 10mm tool diameters and from 0.2 to 50mm (in flat sheet or extruded form).

These tools produce fantastic results in aluminium composite materials (or ACM) or other non-ferrous metals such as brass, bronze and copper.
