Company expansion for KGK Genix K
GK Genix has installed a new swissQprint Kudu flatbed printer as part of a major expansion programme. Managing director Graham Pitts immediately bought the hardware after he was given a hands-on demonstration of its capabilities at swissQprint’s headquarters in Bracknell.
The purchase marks the company’s first move from its long-term standing machine supplier, opting for the Kudu with its competitive edge for branding and retail client work.

The Lanarkshire-based firm purchased a new L3600 Latex printer from HP, and G3 cutter from Zund, with the investment supported by funding from Scottish Enterprise.

Managing director, Alex Oldfield, visited the distributor’s UK and Switzerland offices where he saw the hardware in action. He was impressed by its quality, flexibility, and efficiency and so decided to replace the company’s previous five machines. The Impala was installed on October 21 and has already impacted the company’s workflow.

The new printer combines advanced flatbed printing capabilities with roll-to-roll functionality.

The company is now delivering improved printing services in small and large formats to its customers which include: Matalan, Superdrug, Pets at Home, and Lakeland.
Mr Oldfield said: “The Impala is revolutionising our large format production processes, helping every aspect of our workload.

pecialized Signs & Wraps has moved into a custom-built facility after installing two HP printers, doubling its turnover in two years. The Edinburgh-based sign maker invested in the HP Latex R1000 and the HP Latex 800 and both have helped the company reach a new milestone of moving into a 15,000sq ft, custom-built facility next to Edinburgh Airport, a few months ago. Managing director, Graham Sim, said: “These machines have allowed the company to double its turnover over the last two years, and we still have a fair bit of capacity left on them.
“The R1000 was a game changer when we installed it as it was our first flatbed printer. This made it much faster and cheaper to produce rigid panel work.” Specialized Signs & Wraps offers external and internal signs and window graphics, as well as vehicle wrapping and digitally printed wallpaper.
It also boasts a varied customer base including leading brands such as Rolls Royce, Network Rail, Schuh, Jewson, and Radisson.
