Editor’s Letter I

’m sure it hasn’t passed you by, but this issue is a fair sight larger than a usual issue of Sign Update.

This much-loved publication for the sign industry became the official

sponsoring magazine for Sign & Digital UK when both were acquired by Datateam Business Media in 2023. As a result, I am pleased to present the official preview of the UK’s longest-running exhibition for the visual communications sector.

By turning to P38 you can immerse yourself in everything the exhibition, and our exhibitors, have to offer. We highlight the latest, cutting-edge equipment launching at the show, introduce you to the event’s first-time exhibitors, and outline what educational and informative features areas will be available for visitors.

Sign & Digital UK takes place later this month in Hall 19 at the NEC in Birmingham and will co-locate with Printwear & Promotion LIVE! for the second consecutive year. It’s an event not to be missed!

Sign Update is also proud to be the sponsoring magazine for the inaugural Sign Industry Awards. The well-deserved winners will be announced when the awards take place on Monday, February 24. The exciting shortlist can be found on pages 58 and 59. Tables of our peers will be in for an entertaining night, celebrating the very best within the sign industry. Food and drink will be available and guests will be guided through the evening by our special guest host, comedian and star of Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You, Hal Cruttenden.

Tickets are available so book now to be part of what will be an evening to remember!

And as if that wasn’t enough, this issue of Sign Update is jampacked with features, news, advice and more! Including an interview with Andy Wall of CC Supplies and Workwear and a look at the rise in interior films.

For those joining us in Birmingham, I’ll see you at Sign & Digital UK or The Sign Industry Awards. If you spot me or Ben wandering around, please stop us and say hi! We love chatting with our readers!
