Editor’s Letter

Even with the record-breaking temperatures and heatwaves all over the UK, it hasn’t slowed down the industry with its projects, installations and big announcements.

And with warmer weather comes the dangers of working outside and the skill it takes to work with those tricky materials in hot weather.

When you’re keeping cool this summer, our July/August issue will be able to give you all the latest news and content to sink your teeth into.

It was a busy few months for the team as acting editor, Benjamin Austin was also out of the office visiting Paige Walton at The Vehicle Wrapping Academy.

He tried his hand at wrapping a car door handle and wing mirror and also talked to Paige about her academy and entry into the industry, his special report can be found on pages 38 to 39.

In this issue we also take a look into the world of out of home advertising, delving into industry and how that can affect digital advertising and sign makers. The special report of the World Out of Home Organisation’s Annual Congress that happened back in June can be found on pages 34 to 35.

We then have an extensive FESPA review, highlighting its col-located events and exhibitors, along with a WrapFest review. These can be found respectively on pages 44 to 53 and 54 to 55.

These are the latest reports, but we can’t forget our regular features, which have also grown.

We still receive our column contributions from Colin Sinclair McDermott, Paul Hughes, David Allen, but now the BSGA’s committees and award-winning sign writer Perry Eales – along with a semi-regular column Industry Advice – are contributing to the magazine.

We also have our focus features and latest headlines within the industry.

It has been a pleasure to do this issue and we hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
