Massive creates Rainbow Row for London Marathon

M

assive recently used Alumigraphics Grip from Soyang Europe to create a stunning set of floor graphics for the 2026 TCS London Marathon. Ahead of this year’s TCS London Marathon race, Massive was approached to create floor graphics for one of the most iconic sections of the route, Rainbow Row.

Located just after mile 21, Rainbow Row is a 250m stretch of the route created to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and promote inclusivity. To fit in with this theme, Massive was

tasked by Proud Events to produce floor graphics to mark the start and end of this distinctive part of the race. Ross Slaughter, production lead at Massive, said: “The initial conversation was to supply a larger floor graphic but after various conversations with Proud Events and London Marathon Events, we settled on two 5,000×2,000mm graphics to ‘bookend’ the Rainbow Row area.” A heavy duty material was needed due to the heavy footfall and the company selected Alumigraphics Grip, a durable, foil-based floor covering from Soyang Europe, which is designed for creative

calming colours, imaginative illustrations and interactive elements, such as animals and butterflies for children to count.

FASTSIGNS’ work was carried out on a voluntary basis, with production support from suppliers, such as Antalis and Metamark, with up to seven team members at a time supporting the installation.

Andy Simpson, director at FASTSIGNS Leeds, said: “It was important that the space didn’t feel like a typical hospital. “Some rooms now give children

something to engage with, whether that’s counting butterflies on the walls or spotting animals on the ceiling. If we can make their experience even a little more comfortable, then it’s totally worthwhile.”

A fleet of 150 Philips MediaSuite TVs (55HFL5214U) were installed and each guest has the ability to use the TVs to stream ad play their own content from their mobile devices without the need for extra hardware.

In addition, the TVs now offer opportunities to communicate messages, including facilities, menus and other marketing, directly to guests, eliminating the need for paper. Kendra Ingram, UK business manager at PPDS, concluded: “Many four and five star hotels are turning to Philips MediaSuite as these TVs are the best in the market for energy efficiency, roughly 30-40% more energy efficiency compared to our nearest competitors. “It’s something we take seriously, and we’re delighted that more establishments, like The Chancery Hotel, are taking this seriously, too.”
