Focus on Sheet Materials Xanita Board
An extensive portfolio Antalis
Antalis offers an extensive portfolio of sheet materials for large format printing, catering to the diverse needs of visual communication, signage, POS, interior decoration, and display applications. The range includes rigid and semi-rigid substrates suitable for UV, latex, and screen printing technologies. Key products include foamed PVC, polypropylene, aluminium composite, and paperboards such as Dispa and Katz Display Board. For premium, eco-conscious applications, Xanita Board, a fibreboard made from recycled cardboard, offers an ultra-rigid, fully recyclable alternative to traditional boards and also MDF in structural applications including shop-fit and exhibitions. Antalis’ expertise helps customers choose the right material
for performance, print quality, durability, and environmental impact. All materials carry an Antalis Green Star System rating, a simple, transparent way to help customers quickly assess the sustainability of each product. The rating, from 0 to 5 stars, is based on raw materials used and recyclability at end of life. To
support this initiative, Antalis created the Ecobox – a curated, physical sampling tool containing all 3-star rated and above products across the full range. From short-term promotional signage to long-lasting
architectural displays, Antalis’ large format sheet materials provide reliable, high-quality solutions trusted by printers, designers, and specifiers across the UK and Ireland.

Admiral Tapes Edge-XEdge-X Tape
The ability to print direct to large-format substrates has revolutionised the sign and print market enhancing the variety of sheet materials that are available to satisfy the creative demands of customers. Established materials like ACM, PVC foam board and
acrylic are now supported by a range of more lightweight, durable and sustainable products such as Extruded Polystyrene Foam Board, Corrugated Board and Correx. Driven by a combined market focus for greater environmental credentials and high visual quality the popularity of these strong and durable display boards continues to soar. Admiral Tapes manufactures a range of industry specific
technical tapes and the latest addition was developed at the request of an overseas distributor whose customers were struggling to find a cost-effective product to seal the open face of 19mm thick display boards such as Smart-X. Between the printable faces of this type of display board there is an open edge that is either crumbly in substance or visually distracting from the finished aesthetic. The directive was to develop a self-adhesive tape that would both protect and cover the middle of the board.

mers
Over the last 18 months Edge-X Tape has been thoroughly tested and is now immediately available in a matt white finish with a range of colours set to follow. Cut to widths to suit the most common display boards and sheet materials of 10mm, 16mm or 19mm wide we are also able to offer bespoke sizes. Formulated with a high-performance adhesive it is suitable for outdoor use; it is waterproof and tearproof with an external life of approximately 2 years. Using EDGE-X to protect the open edge helps reduce moisture ingress prolonging the lifespan of the graphic in external environments. With a paper like appearance, it provides both an aesthetically pleasing finish and increases the durability of a sign. Edge-X Tape is exceptionally conformable on angled or rounded shapes; it can be effortlessly applied by hand, making it a time efficient finishing product for any sized job, shape or design. A key point of interest is that Edge-X Tape is fully recyclable under type five plastics, PP (polypropylene). Admiral Tapes is always working to become more eco-friendly, so the company is proud that Edge-X is befitting of the display boards it’s been designed to add that finishing touch to.
