Focus on Sustainable Products e oducts Red Label Zero Forest Canon For prints that demand quality

With customers and regulators increasingly demanding transparency on carbon footprints, paper choices are becoming a practical way for print service providers (PSPs) and corporate organisations to demonstrate progress towards sustainability goals. Canon has responded with its Red Label Zero Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) range, ideal for commercial and office prints that demand quality. Available in A4, A3 and SRA3 (with reels on demand) and weights from 80 to 160gsm, Red Label Zero offers reliable runnability across both toner and inkjet devices. Its smooth finish ensures sharp contrast and vivid colours, while high opacity and a whiteness of 168 CIE support a range of professional applications. First previewed at drupa 2024, Red Label Zero replaces the existing Red Label Superior line, delivering the same trusted performance but with stronger environmental credentials. Certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and ClimatePartner, Canon is proud to offer sustainable manufacturing and product CO2 footprint compensation from cradle-to-customer for its papers. Additionally, Red Label Zero carries EU Ecolabel and Nordic

pulp from renewable sources and sustainably managed forests, certified by FSC or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). With Red Label Zero, sustainability is a priority at every stage of the product lifecycle, from Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) bleaching to packaging made from 100% recycled fibres and recyclable ream wrappers. Since the launch of the first Zero range in 2012, Canon has also supported multiple climate projects to help offset any residual emissions from its products. For example, for high-volume buyers, direct mill-to-warehouse delivery can even help cut transport emissions. The Red Label Zero range reflects Canon’s broader commitment to sustainability, recognised with a Platinum EcoVadis rating placing it among the top 1% of companies globally. By expanding the Zero Paper portfolio, Canon is continuing to provide a credible way to balance premium print quality with genuine environmental responsibility.

Introducing a range of revolutionary 85% bio-based self-adhesive films for digital print

Sustainability and being able to offer a more planet friendly service to customers should now be seen as key considerations for print companies. Rising demand for this type of print means that if you do not adapt and evolve your services, you could miss out on valuable work. Digidelta is a specialist manufacturer of digital printing, decoration, visual communication, and textile materials, which recognises this changing demand. With this in mind, the company recently announced the global availability BIOND, a range of revolutionary 85% bio-based self-adhesive films for digital print. Designed with the environment in mind, BIOND materials are manufactured from a groundbreaking bio-based technology that will completely revolutionise large-format printing. BIOND has been crafted from vegetable-based products, with the aim of helping customers to evolve and diversify their offering while significantly enhancing their own environmental credentials. The BIOND collection comprises three core ranges: printing films, décor films and protection films. Though different in name, each product is based on the same, patented design. The films contain 85%+ bio-based content, do not

have any volatile organic compounds, and are free from harmful substances such as phthalates and chlorine. Digidelta’s commitment and approach to sustainable, planet friendly production is supported with the option of water-based or solvent-free UV adhesive options. In addition to this, the manufacturer holds several recognised and respected environmental certifications. Crucially, while environmentally focused in nature, BIOND products behave and perform in the same way as traditional, PVC films, with the core difference being that BIOND solutions offer a far more sustainable option. To ensure these high, environmental standards are met, Digidelta ensures all production of BIOND materials remains in-house. Digidelta operates out of a dedicated factory facility in Portugal, using processes that are 85% solar powered, keeping the footprint of production as low as possible. It is this all-round approach to sustainability that stands Digidelta and its customers in good stead for the long-term, as the team is able to present users with additional information they can pass on to their own clients to illustrate their commitment to the environment.
