Production doubles for Wallaceprint.com with Liyu

I

nvestment in a Liyu England large-format printer and cutter has allowed Wallaceprint.com to take

bigger and more complex requests. The selection of the Liyu Platinum KCXL Pro UV flatbed printer and Liyu XL Q-Cut digital flatbed cutter is as much about increased capability as it is about capacity and increased growth of the company.

Gary Wallace, CEO and owner, said: “Customers are not just asking for more

work, they are asking for more and more complex projects and we never want to say no in those circumstances. We are getting a lot more large-format, short-run bespoke work, where quality and speed are paramount.”

Wallaceprint.com can take on bigger and more ambitious projects, due to the new printer’s capabilities. Oversized panels and displays can be printed and then cut and finished with greater speed, accuracy and flexibility.

amprint Design & Printing has invested in a Mimaki UJV55-320 UV LED roll-to-roll printer from CMYUK, marking the installation of the company’s first in-house 3.2m printer unlocking more textile, SEG and single piece wallcovering opportunities. The printer delivers high impact output

for super-wide banners, tension frame graphics, single piece wall coverings, canvases, and construction/scaffold banners, all sectors where Jamprint is seeing strong growth. Jake Fortune, managing director, said:

“Diversifying beyond litho and digital has been a strategic goal for us, and client demand for 3.2-metre-wide banners and textile applications made the decision straightforward. “The Mimaki UJV55-320 gives us the width, quality, and reliability to bring work in-house, increasing turnover in a

different part of the business, and gives our customers faster lead time.” Its addition allows the team to split or balance jobs. Mr Fortune added: “If our 1.6m printer is busy, we can load three jobs onto the Mimaki and keep everything moving. It improves production, and, ultimately turnover.” Jamprint’s set-up is aligned with their sustainability goals, while not compromising durability or colour quality. Mr Fortune added: “Where customers specify PVC-free or particular eco-credentials, we accommodate that. Our super-wide capability just means we can say yes to more of those briefs.” The company’s Mimaki investment broadens what its customers can achieve with them. Mr Fortune concluded: “We can produce more, faster and at larger scale without sending work elsewhere.”

Victory Design and AP Signs & Print invest in Vivid’s Easymount Hybrid laminator

T

wo companies have taken the plunge and invested in an Easymount Hybrid laminator from

Vivid Laminating Technologies. Victory Design based in Chesterfield

and AP Signs & Print based in Weston-super-Mare will both see a boost to production with their new purchases. The installations will mean that

each business will be able to improve wide-format finishing in house. According to Vivid, the Easymount Hybrid is the world’s first all-in-one laminator and applicator. It features roll-to-roll laminating, along with unique roller HOVER technology for easy mounting applications. The modular design of the Easymount Hybrid means it can be configured to an individual print service provider’s specific production needs.
