HP transforms the paediatric preoperative area of Hospital Germans Trias

I

n a joint effort to humanise the paediatric hospital experience, HP has collaborated with Hospital Germans Trias and Nixi for Children to transform the paediatric preoperative area of the health centre. With HP Latex printing technology, large-format illustrated vinyls have been created and installed in the preoperative waiting room and the hallway leading to the operating room, transforming a clinical environment into a space full of light and colour – more welcoming and comforting for young patients. Daniel Martinez, global head and general manager, HP Large Format Business, said: “Innovation truly makes sense when it improves people’s lives. This project is a great example of how we can contribute to creating more human

Yorkshire school transformed into vibrant environment by Imageco and UFABRIK

FABRIK Wallcover Eco Canvas was selected by Imageco to help transform a Yorkshire school into a vibrant inspiring environment. The Leeds-based business partnered with Beautiful Education, a long-standing collaborator, and children’s book illustrator, Danny Deeptown to bring the project to life, overseen during the summer by Calum Maltman, project co-ordinator at Imageco.

UFABRIK Wallcover Eco Canvas is one of the most environmentally friendly

grey-back canvas for one-piece paste-the-wall applications, wall coverings, roll-ups and stretch canvas graphics, due to being made from a minimum of 80% SCS certified recycled plastic bottled waste.

Nathan Swinson-Bullough, MD Imageco, said: “It’s just really robust, it doesn’t tear, good to install, and looks fantastic. With a couple of the more challenging school environments, we might also apply protective acrylic kick plates to the graphics, but this is an

exception, and not the norm.

“UFABRIK is great to print. There’s just nothing bad to say about it. It ticks all the boxes for us.”

ith the help of Xanita board sustainability took centre stage during the flagship showcase for South African wine, Cape Wine.

| 32 | November/December 2025

The board is a 100% repulpable engineered, closed-cell fibreboard manufactured with a part recycled corrugated kraft core sandwiched between printable white Kraft liners. It is an alternative to traditional substrates and is ideal for exhibition builds, retail environments, where both impact and sustainability are priorities. Chris Green, visual communication director at Antalis, which stocks Xanita boards in the UK, said: “Xanita continues to prove that sustainable

materials can deliver both creativity and performance at scale.

“For Antalis, the success of this project highlights the growing role of sustainable materials like Xanita in shaping the future of exhibition and display design.”

Mr Martinez added: “We are especially proud to have participated in this initiative, which not only seeks to support children in such delicate situations, but also demonstrates that innovation can and should have a social purpose. “It is exciting to see how technology, from a sustainable perspective, can transform the hospital environment into a space filled with light, colour, and hope.” The vinyls were printed with the HP Latex 2700 W printer carried out by HP customer ALIUM, using the latest generation of HP Latex water-based inks. With initiatives like this, HP continues to demonstrate that technology can play an essential role in improving the paediatric hospital experience, putting innovation at the service of people and the emotional care of children.
