Focus on Sustainable Products Premier

An easy way to deliver high-quality, fully recyclable signage

Sustainability is a growing priority across the signage industry, with brands and end users seeking materials that deliver both visual impact and environmental responsibility. One of the latest innovations helping printers meet these demands is Drytac PaperTac, a fully recyclable, self-adhesive, premium coated paper exclusively available through Premier in the UK and Ireland. PaperTac was developed in collaboration with Drytac to

provide a solution for customers who cannot print direct to substrate, enabling them to produce graphics to mount on fibre-based boards without compromising recyclability. It also offers plastic-free options for internal graphics, such as POS. PaperTac can be mounted to rigid, recyclable display sheet materials such as Ultra Board or Oppboga Excellent. Both are 100% fibre-based, fully recyclable, FSC-certified, premium display sheets designed as cost-effective and lightweight alternatives for indoor applications. Suitable for UV, latex and screen printing, they are ideal for indoor signage and displays, exhibition graphics and point of sale. Ultra Board is manufactured in the UK using recyclable materials and is available in a variety of thicknesses with white

or kraft rigid liners. It is FSC-certified and Carbon Captured at source. Oppboga Excellent, made in Europe using renewable energy, also carries FSC certification and is produced to high environmental standards. Mounted together, PaperTac and either Ultra Board or Oppboga Excellent create signage that is fully recyclable in a single paper waste stream. The adhesive layer does not need to be separated from the board, enabling the entire display to enter the recycling chain. PaperTac has achieved an impressive 91/100 recyclability score (CEPI v2), proving its compatibility within the paper recycling process. This powerful combination gives sign makers an easy way to

deliver high-quality, fully recyclable signage that meets their own and their clients’ sustainability goals.

Driving sustainability with innovative signage solutions

SureColor SC-R5000 SureColor SC-R5000

In today’s signage industry, sustainability isn’t just a trend; it’s a responsibility. Epson is committed to manufacturing solutions that offer accumulative waste and energy savings for sign makers, while maintaining the high-quality output that clients demand. Popular signage solutions SureColor SC-R5000 and SureColor SC-S9100 printers demonstrate what some of these savings look like. The Epson SC-R5000 represents Epson’s ongoing efforts to make professional printing more resource-efficient. Its high-capacity, up to 3-litre per colour bulk ink packs with hot-swap capability reduce packaging waste and operational interruptions. Its water-based, odourless UltraChrome RS resin inks, which are low in VOCs, are GREENGUARD Gold certified. Safe for indoor graphics, wall coverings, and sensitive environments such as hospitals and schools, these inks also dry quickly, enabling immediate lamination and eliminating off-gassing delays, reducing both energy use and production time. Additionally, the SC-R5000 supports PVC-free

printing on recyclable, uncoated media, helping businesses reduce waste without compromising image quality. A key feature of the SC-9100 is its advanced, energy-efficient drying systems, which accelerate handling and enable same-day lamination, improving workflow efficiency while conserving energy. Both the SC-R5000 and SC-S9100 feature user-replaceable print heads and PrecisionCore technology, minimising downtime, reducing unnecessary service trips, and optimising energy and ink consumption with fewer passes. Epson’s Cloud Solution PORT further supports sustainable operations by providing accurate tracking of ink and media usage, enabling sign makers to better understand their environmental footprint. By combining advanced print technology with efficient operation and durable materials, Epson helps sign makers produce high-impact visuals with less waste and energy use. Whether printing graphics for public spaces, retail, or healthcare settings, Epson solutions support smoother workflows and consistent quality. For many businesses, these efficiencies translate into gradual reductions in material use, energy consumption, and production costs. As practical steps toward more sustainable signage.
