Salt Security Salt Security has named Michael Porat senior vice president, corporate and business development. Porat will direct alliances with the growing set of Salt technology
partners as Salt infuses its rich API intelligence across the ecosystem. In addition, Porat will manage the Salt Security channel partner ecosystem, which continues to grow in breadth and depth worldwide. Porat brings more than 20 years of experience in business
development strategy, with expertise in security, infrastructure soſtware, and SaaS. Before joining Salt, Porat was SVP of corporate and business development at
Vectra.ai, where he was instrumental in driving key alliances to solve critical issues and maximize customer value. Prior to
Vectrai.ai, Porat was VP of strategy and business development at Cohesity. While at Cohesity, he also served as GM of Cohesity’s SaaS transformation initiative, drove joint ventures, and led a number of company acquisitions. Porat also held executive roles at Cisco, including head of corporate development for its data centre business, where he helped spearhead Cisco’s strategy and execution of venture investments and M&A.
TD Synnex TD Synnex Maverick has promoted Bas Dekker to the role of director, smart meetings, Europe. Dekker joined TD Synnex Maverick in 2021 as director, Netherlands,
and has led the team to remarkable success since then. Prior to that, he held a variety of leadership roles within the technology and consumer electronics space at companies such as LG, Dell and MediaMarkt during a career spanning more than 20 years. In this new role, Dekker will support the growth of the key strategic
brands in the Maverick smart meetings portfolio. In the coming quarters, he will focus on collaborating with the European team and the channel across Maverick’s 16 countries to navigate the fast-paced move to hybrid work environments and the implementation of AI enabled technologies. Passionate about the industry, Dekker is a leader with experience
in building, transforming, and developing strong teams within matrix organisations.
Midwich Midwich has promoted Kane Barker, Katie Ford, and Aaron Lawther to directors. Effective immediately, Barker will become divisional director, Ford will
become channel marketing director, and Lawther will become Director – internal sales. All three have been with Midwich for a combined service of more than 36 years and are positioned to further unite the three business areas to support the company in its future growth. Vyta Vyta has appointed Sue Bywater-Read to the role of strategic relationship director. As Vyta continues to grow, Bywater-Read will be responsible for identifying
gaps and pain points in companies’ IT asset management models and overseeing solutions to build upon Vyta’s services. Bywater-Read’s career in the ITAD Industry began in 2000 at
RDC where she gained skills and knowledge in building complete lifecycle solutions to meet customers’ compliance and financial requirements. Since, her career has spanned multiple organisations including EOL IT Services and Global Resale, where she held the position of lifecycles services consultant, introducing partner solutions to develop its client base. From there, Bywater-Read was appointed IT asset manager at Te Workshop, a global technology company where she built an IT asset management function from the ground up. Bywater-Read holds a PgDip Certificate in Management from
Anglia Ruskin University, a Certificate of Achievement for Audit Defense Licensing Course from the LISA Academy, and is a Certified GDPR-trained Professional through Briefed Certification.
Brother UK Business technology solutions provider Brother UK has further strengthened its leadership team with two senior
promotions to support the firm’s strategic growth plans. Stuart Maclean and Mike Anderson have been appointed new roles, both reporting directly to managing director Phil Jones. Maclean has been promoted to chief financial officer (CFO)
from his former role as head of finance and corporate planning. In the new position, Maclean will be responsible for overseeing the business’ financial activities including auditing, strategy and delivering profitability across the firm’s categories. He will also continue his role as head of European finance shared services, leading a team of 33 across 13 countries, including the UK. Anderson has been promoted to chief marketing officer aſter
eight years as head of marketing at Brother UK. He will have full responsibility for the business’ marketing operations, developing strategies to drive Brother UK’s growth and will oversee a team of 25. Anderson’s new role follows the retirement of sales and marketing director Andy Forsyth, aſter 11 years with the business and a 40-year long career in business technology.
