Happy New Year! Here we go again. I am cautiously optimistic about 2026. Naive? Perhaps. What’s come before is still here, and I expect more of the same to follow, unfortunately. Having said that, it also feels like there’s room for more collaboration, more conversation and more questions. Where do we go next? What should we do? The answers will be very different, depending on who you are and what you do. But it’s good to talk. Good to come together to try and solve problems and work together where possible. If you’ve got a support network, solid partnerships or loyalty (in whatever form that might take), I’d say you can count yourself quite fortunate. Perhaps more than ever, now is the time to come together. Be that at
shows, in forums, at events. A time to ask hard questions and have difficult conversations with the aim of finding new options to explore. You might already be on that journey, but for those who aren’t, if you’re feeling a little uncertain about the future, people who work in our industry are more often than not willing to help if they can. This issue, whilst containing security themes, ties together the idea of collaboration quite nicely. I’ve often found that, as editor, almost by accident, themes emerge by themselves, and in this case, talk of coming together turns up a few times. Both Cycling UK and Dominic Langan mention the E-bike positive campaign and what’s been achieved by working together. We also preview the upcoming iceBike* show and what to expect. If

you haven’t registered, I’d urge you to consider. In terms of places to have conversations to help find direction, this is among the best. Finally, there’s also some exciting news for us, which also ties in nicely to the theme of having more conversations. We’re launching a podcast! I wish you all a content, healthy 2026. I hope the year ahead has more ups than downs!
