EVERCADE R SERIES At last, we get to honk the horn for the release of some good ol’ British console hardware in these fusty pages, as today sees the launch of the Evercade EXP-R and the VS-R, a natty refresh of the retro handheld and original 2021 console respectively.
The new-R versions of the Evercade are blacker, sleeker and cheaper, but otherwise functionally unchanged. What is new is that both will be packaged with the Tomb Raider Collection 1, which features the first three games of the classic series on one “giga cart”. Expect more mid-90s classics to follow.

F1 MANAGER 2024 It’s fair to say that Frontier’s attempt to do for Formula 1 what Sports Interactive has done for football did not enjoy the greatest of starts. It’s also fair to say that back in 1992 when the very first Championship Manager came out, Sports Interactive didn’t quite nail the brief either. They soon got things back on track and the hope is that, at the third attempt, Frontier will be on course to take the chequered flag without too many pit stops.
New to this version is a whole +1 added to the year, an improved race camera, deeper management features and the ability to create your own team. The game will also be coming to Switch for the first time.

TENNOCON 2024 Often when we hear that it’s been X years since a game was released it has us wondering where the time has gone. Oddly, discovering that Warframe has been around for more than a decade has us questioning if someone at Digital Extremes has lost the other one down the back of a sofa somewhere. It seems like one of those games that’s been around forever. In a good way.
TennoCon is of course the annual reminder to non-players of Warframe’s continued existence and the time of the year when new stuff is teased and revealed. It’ll be worth tuning in this year, if only to claim your free in-game RX-52 rifle. T&Cs apply, probably.
