The Nordic Game Conference celebrated its 20th anniversary this past May, attracting 2,500 attendees from around the world and boasting more than 30,000 unique viewers tuning in to livestreamed talks and sessions from the main theatre.


The conference featured 157 speakers covering a wide range of topics, including virtual reality, AI, sustainable studio management, adapting to changes, cultural representation in games, and even the challenges of designing in-game romances.


Last but not least the conference hosted the 2024 Nordic Game Awards. Alan Wake 2 emerged as the big winner of the evening, receiving three awards including Nordic Game of the Year. Other notable winners included Rytmos by Floppy Club, Cocoon by Geometric Interactive, The Finals by Embark Studios, Ikonei Island by Snowcastle Games, and Bramble: The Mountain King by Maximum Entertainment.
