Let MCV/DEVELOP guide you through the games news that was, is, and will be
ZENLESS ZONE ZERO Any game that manages to squeeze in the names of two of the greatest games mags of all time into its otherwise meaningless title is okay by us. (PC Zone and Zero - as if you didn’t know!) Other than that, all you really need to know about the recently released free-to-play action RPG is that it’s by the same people as behind Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. Popular? Put it this way, there were probably more people downloading the game on July 4th than there were voting in the election. Probably.

SWARM 2 There aren’t many options if you want to swing about in VR as Spider-man. There are better ones if you’re ok swinging about like him, with a number of games that offer the ability to shoot silly string at tall buildings and pull yourself heroically around. Swarm 2 goes one better that most by arming its “grapple commandos”, so you can fulfil all your Spider-man and Matrix fantasies in one fell swoop. The first game is barely a year old, so it’ll be interesting to see how much is new in the sequel.

DUNGEONS OF HINTERBERG If ever a game gets the Christian Donlan preview treatment, it’s usually one worth wishlisting. Eurogamer’s ever-chipper and insightful indie connoisseur, you see, doesn’t just have an eye for a good time, but the legs to explore a game’s sense of its own space. He likes to poke around, yes, but also to take a moment and appreciate a game’s uniqueness and ponder any parallels it may have with other games, or with books, or memories. In short, his previews are often as surprising and delightful as the games themselves, which bodes well for Dungeons of Hinterberg.
