This is driven by a desire for sleek, space- saving solutions which integrate effortlessly into modern homes, alongside a growing emphasis on sustainability. With advancements in energy- efficient technologies, customisable features, and AI-assisted cooking, today’s built-in appliances not only enhance convenience but also help reduce environmental impact.

“Our new Pearl Beige finish, available across our built-in range, contributes to a serene and cocooning aesthetic that’s set to be a key design trend in the year ahead,” says Tom Hopper, Kitchens Manager at Miele GB. In addition to this, Miele has introduced a range of voice-controlled appliances designed to enhance accessibility and convenience, particularly for multi-generational households. A prime example is the ActiveDoor feature in its refrigerators, which allows users to open and close the door using voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Adds Mr Hopper: “The integration of smart technology, energy-efficient features, and easy- to-clean innovations, such as our HydroClean ovens, make our built-in products more user- friendly and ideal for busy households.”

One standout model, the Miele FN S 7794 D Built-in Freezer, showcases the brand’s ActiveDoor technology, allowing users to control the door through voice commands or even a simple knock. The freezer’s customisable settings, such as the opening angle, pressure sensor sensitivity, and default door closure, ensure a highly tailored user experience. In addition, this NoFrost model features eight telescopic drawers, including Ice and PizzaBox drawers, as well as energy-efficient LED lighting and a SoftClose door. Plus, connectivity through the Miele@home app, FreshTouch controls, and audible/optical door and temperature alarms complete the list of premium features.

At Hisense, innovation is also front and centre with the launch of the premium Hi8 BlackLine range, featuring sleek 77-litre ovens with steam or pyrolytic cleaning options, and a compact 50-litre oven with microwave capabilities. These ovens combine modern aesthetics—featuring jet-black glass and a colour TFT display—with impressive functionality, including a 1.2-litre Steam Add Pro water tank for perfect steam cooking and specialised modes like ‘Air Fry’ and ‘Pizza’, eliminating the need for additional appliances. Matthew Glynn, Go-To-Market Product Marketing Manager at Hisense, comments: “We’ve also launched a new range of double ovens in the same striking jet-black finish, available in both built-in and built-under installation options. These ovens offer XL capacity with easy-to-clean catalytic or enamel liners to suit every kitchen and cooking style.” In the cooling category, Hisense has
