A cause for celebration! W

elcome to our ERT Awards special issue with exclusive articles with each of this year’s very worthy winners! Huge congratulations to everyone who picked up a trophy, and I hope you’re able to display yours with pride somewhere nearby! We had the most amount of entries ever for

the ERT Awards 2024 – a clear sign of how the industry is growing and how businesses are diversifying into new and exciting sectors to give consumers more product choice than ever before. Technology in our industry is constantly evolving as manufacturers continue to launch new and exciting products with all manner of capabilities. This, in turn, provides plenty of reasons for consumers to seek out their local electrical retailer, and this is where independent dealers come into their own and can differentiate themselves from the multiples by offering a truly personalised service. The ERT Awards celebrates those businesses and their hard-working staff, as well as the industry’s leading brands and the best new products across the sector. And I’m pleased to say that the 2024 Awards was another brilliant event with our biggest audience to date! It was so great to see so many of you there! The extended welcome drinks reception saw guests entertained with music and magic, which helped to get everybody in the mood for

a celebration. And then the atmosphere during the Awards ceremony itself was incredible! The cheering and applauding got louder and louder as more and more winners were announced, and it was brilliant to see everyone showing so much support for each other.

Back by popular demand, Shaun Williamson (aka

Barry from EastEnders) joined us again on hosting duties and returned with his quick wit and self- deprecating humour; he even closed the Awards with a ‘Barrioke’ sing-along and a bit of dancing! Once again we also hosted the 2024 ERT

Awards charity raffle, in association with TRIC (the Television & Radio Industries Club), where we raised over £1,200 for two charities – Joe’s Buddy Line and Starlight Children’s Foundation. Thank you to EPE International, Roberts and TRIC for kindly donating the prizes, and thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets to help raise money for these two worthy charities. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic afternoon at the Awards. Huge thanks to our wonderful sponsors, and congratulations to all the winners and highly commended! You can find out more about the Class of 2024 in this special Awards issue – just turn to page 20. And guess what, we’re doing it all again later this year! Mark your calendars for Thursday 23 October for the ERT Awards 2025!
