Best Industry Training Provider Winner Sony
Sony, named Best Industry Training Provider 2024, continues to develop and evolve its training delivery to make sure it is able to provide class-leading training to all its retail partners and store colleagues in the most flexible and user-friendly way. The company believes strongly in in-person training but also appreciates that not all colleagues are able to join that way, so Sony has developed its “Hybrid in Person” training as well as its online modules; in addition, the manufacturer has introduced a “Win and Learn with Sony Gamification” element to its online training, rewarding colleagues who take the time to engage. In 2023 Sony launched ‘Live from Weybridge’ TV and soundbar training events – delivered in the style of a “live” TV broadcast with product demos and briefings. These sessions were also recorded and shared with retail colleagues who could catch up at a later date. “As a team we really believe in making our training as accessible as possible,” Sony UK’s Head of Training, Jason Clark, tells ERT. “By running these ‘live from Weybridge’ online events we hope that we are able provide product updates and training to as many of our partner teams as possible.

“It is great to get feedback
around the ‘always on’ content that we share in partnership with ERT; by having content available 24/7 it allows retailers to dip in and out to keep up to date or refresh themselves on Sony products. It also gives new
starters the chance to get fully up to speed on our key models and USPs.” Mr Clark says it’s an “amazing honour” to be recognised with this
award.. “It’s always great to receive recognition from our peers, and as a team this makes us want to work harder to improve both our in-person and online offering.” He adds: “The 2024 Awards was another great event; it was really good to meet up with colleagues old and new to discuss business and ways of possibly improving our ways of working in the future.”
