ERT AWARDS 2024
Best Independent Kitchen Retailer Showroom Winner: Long Eaton Appliance & Sponsored by
Kitchen Company David Rowland, Managing Director of Long Eaton Appliance & Kitchen Company, said he is over the moon! And this win comes hot on the
heels of another triumph at another industry awards earlier this year where the retailer won Best Large Independent Retailer in Domestic Appliances, making it a double celebration for the team! Mr Rowland says this trophy is a reflection of the team’s dedication to supporting their customers, he says. “It’s incredible to be recognised in this way. Our kitchen design and installation team work tirelessly, not only to keep the showroom fresh and inspiring but also to stay on top of the latest trends. Every customer who walks through our door should feel inspired, and this award affirms that we’re doing something right.” The success, he believes, is down to more than just the showroom’s aesthetics… it’s the passion and commitment of the store team that sets the company apart, he says, adding that the ERT Awards event itself was “a memorable experience” in a “fantastic” venue... “That really helped to create such a positive atmosphere. It’s a rare opportunity to connect with industry peers, and we left feeling inspired; it’s always motivating to see the collective achievements of the sector.” For Mr Rowland, the importance of the ERT Awards cannot be overstated; it’s one of the few opportunities for the industry to come together, he says. “The ERT Awards not only recognises hard work but also motivates us to keep raising our standards and delivering the best possible service to our customers. “And this award really is testament to the ongoing dedication and innovation that continues to drive Long Eaton Appliances forward.”

Best Independent Electrical Retailer Website Winner
Marks Electrical
Marks Electrical has developed its business model rapidly over recent years and its website has seen exponential growth, with a huge amount of investment in front-end development as well as back- end stock systems, plus sales and product support for customers and its nationwide delivery service.
Online trade is now such a major part of the business, but the range of goods stored at the retailer’s warehouse is vast and always ready to go. Marks also has its own fleet of delivery vehicles to reach customers in all parts of the country, seven days a week. The retailer recently integrated WhatsApp into its website contact function, allowing more options and flexibility to support customers who don’t have time to take a phone call. Ryan Burgess, Marketing Manager at Marks Electrical, says the whole team is so thrilled with this ERT Awards win: “We are incredibly proud; it’s a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our team who continuously strive to improve the customer journey on our website. This award really acknowledges their efforts,” he says. “On our website we keep things simple and informative. We have invested in our team to ensure the site is fast, up-to-date, and responsive to feedback from both our customers and manufacturing partners. By staying agile and proactive, we can deliver an excellent user experience.” For Mr Burgess, the continued recognition of industry achievements at the ERT Awards is crucial, and he adds that this award serves as a reminder that in today’s fast-evolving retail landscape, staying focused on the customer experience is key to success.
