ERT AWARDS 2024

December 2024 / January 2025 ertonline.co.uk

Best Manufacturer/Supplier Sustainability Initiative Winner: Electrolux Group – AEG’s Don’t Wash Your Clothes Campaign

“We are so excited to have won this brand new award at the ERT Awards 2024,” Michael White, Channel Manager for Independents at Electrolux Group, tells ERT. “Sustainability is integral to everything we do, and to have our efforts recognised means a great deal to us and the whole team are really proud!” AEG’s Don’t Wash Your Clothes campaign was a unique campaign – it essentially told consumers to wash their garments less. Its aim was to raise awareness about the impact of unnecessary washing on the environment, and it highlighted AEG’s 9000 AbsoluteCare Washing Machine’s Steam Refresh cycle, which allows consumers to refresh their clothes instead of washing them, saving up to 97 per cent of water per cycle. Within the AEG brand, the EcoLine range features the manufacturer’s most energy-efficient appliances, specifically designed to help consumers save energy, water and money in the home. In stocking this range, retailers can use it to showcase products with clear energy-saving features, and by demonstrating these models they are then able to help customers make informed choices that help them to live more sustainably. Mr White adds: “Knowing that this award was voted for by retailers

across the industry means even more. The ERT Awards is one of the few occasions where manufacturers, retailers and associations all come together to celebrate the best of the industry. It’s something to be cherished!

“We enjoyed the event very much and we were delighted to host some of our key customers at our table. ERT holds a unique position in between manufacturers and retailers; I would encourage more manufacturers to support the Awards and more retailers to put themselves forward as it’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the industry together!”
