FRANCHISEFOCUS INVESTMENT: FROM £270,000 Good to the core

Reformcore, London’s latest luxury Reformer Pilates brand takes the industry by storm and successfully launches two new franchise sites

P

remium studio fitness and wellness super-group United Fitness Brands launched its

flagship Reformcore Studio on the affluent King’s Road in Chelsea in January 2024. With five studios located across London, and two franchise locations, the growth plans look very strong for 2025. This isn’t just any Reformer Pilates class; Reformcore’s programming has been curated by the team behind the industry-defining brand Barrecore – it’s no wonder classes are booked out across all locations. Paige Wang, Leeds franchisee for both

Reformcore and Barrecore, launched her studio during the pandemic and has seen positive growth over the last 12 months. Utilising the multi-brand system promoted by United Fitness Brands, she launched Reformcore in January 2024 and has seen a fourfold increase in revenue since beginning trading.

“a o a wave o itness solutions valued at around illion in ”

Richard North is the United Fitness

Brand Global Franchise Director: “In a post- pandemic world, the premium fitness studio experience is going from strength to strength. It is clear people have a strong focus on their fitness and wellness, but it is community that is really changing the way people connect with these experiences. We’ve seen it with our corporate studios and in our franchise studios where franchisees are the heartbeat of their business and the community. “We’ve spent time understanding

our franchisees’ needs and have drawn on experience from multiple franchise sectors to build world-class systems and

marketing – from detailed geolocation analysis to industry-leading training – and this is all before you even open!”

Why studio fitness? The UK fitness industry is experiencing a healthy post-pandemic boom. Valued at approximately £2 billion in 2024*, there’s been an unprecedented influx of fitness solutions, ranging from mega gyms to boutique studios. United Fitness Brands has trended at 15% year-on-year revenue growth throughout 2024. “Reformer Pilates is huge; it’s not a fad

and the growth is here to stay. The low- impact, high-result aspect of the method attracts a vast and varied demographic – we cannot keep up with demand right now,” Richard adds. “Operating a boutique studio isn’t just

running a business, it’s an opportunity to positively impact people health and wellbeing goals in your local community – for us, if we focus on people and passion then the profits come.”

Why Reformcore? Reformcore is the latest in a string of successful boutique studio brands. United Fitness Brands has over 1,000 employed and contracted team members. By partnering with one, or more, of their brands, you are joining a growing collection of industry-defining studio brands. Richard North and CEO Malcolm

Armstrong (previous Virgin Active MD) have been clear and aligned in their position on franchising. “We want passionate people. Our franchisees are a critical component of our global growth plans, and we will put their success front and centre. Of course, there is a lot of hard work in launching your own business, but our turnkey solution and data-driven decision-making on location takes the guess work out of success,” Richard details.

“Our franchisees are not just a number or a name on a system, they are one of our most important stakeholders,” Malcolm Armstrong adds. “We know their success is our success and so we have built world leading training and marketing to make sure they have all the tools to succeed.” Reformcore is just the start. As United

Fitness Brands moves from franchise pilots to franchise growth, now is the time to progress Reformer Pilates as a franchise. The multi-brand franchise model by United Fitness Brands enables franchisees to capitalise on industry trends and industry growth. Operating multiple brands from studios at one location, franchisees can reach a broad demographic of members whilst centralising the operational costs and services. 
