What led you to becoming a Visiting Angels franchisee? I began my career in the care sector during university, working part-time in a care home for four years. After university, I worked in global recruitment and sales but felt unfulfi lled. With the birth of my children, I shifted back to the care sector, applying skills from fast-paced industries in operations for a care home group, as well as spending fi ve years managing a homecare brand, and realising my passion for nurturing carers and upholding family values. This led me to launch my Visiting Angels West Leicestershire franchise around November of last year. I knew the benefi ts of running a franchise far


outweigh those of an independent business. It offers the support of a network and makes the responsibility and pressures of owning a business easier. Visiting Angels stood out with their carer-centric values and mission – it resonated perfectly with me, since they were causing a stir in the neighbourhood, I wanted to learn more to ascertain if their values aligned with my own.


What job satisfaction does it provide? It’s incredibly rewarding! We’re making a real difference to the lives of the clients we support and, more importantly, our angels (caregivers). It has been an incredibly positive experience.


How's business since you began trading? Before launching, we had plenty of time to network, build referrals, and develop processes. The head offi ce provided extensive support in recruiting Care Managers, training and got us prepared for our launch date. The continual support has also been fantastic from our Area Manager at the Head Offi ce. Our business is growing rapidly, surpassing all expectations. We recently had an external team assess our quality, and were rated ‘Outstanding’ refl ecting the hard work of our incredible team.


Any plans to expand? Have you advice for others? We plan to open a second satellite offi ce within the next year to expand our high-quality, localized care in West Leicestershire. Our goal is to become the homecare provider of choice in our area and to be the UK's care sector Employer of Choice by 2030. I'd recommend franchising to others, yes.... The


network is incredibly supportive and helpful. If you invest the time, you can achieve incredible results!
