Right at Home Isle of Wight rallied local businesses and volunteers to host a special lunch for lonely islanders on Christmas Day

not rushing growth. We didn’t employ just anybody for the sake of building our hours – we waited and employed the right people to provide the best possible care.” The hard work has paid off and Vicky and Paul have

even been recognised nationally for their achievements, winning a Great British Franchisee Award in September. The award win came as a surprise to the couple

when it was announced on stage to a packed audience at Right at Home UK’s 2024 Annual Conference in Cheshire.

“The most rewarding moments are when clients speak so highly of their lovely CareGivers”

"Paul and I were in complete shock to have won the

Great British Franchisee Award. It was such an amazing way to fi nd out and celebrate with our colleagues in the Right at Home network,” Vicky recalls.

Community engagement Working at the heart of their local community has also helped Vicky and Paul build a strong reputation as a trusted, quality care provider. In April 2023, the couple launched the Older Persons

Good Living Show to showcase businesses and services on the Isle of Wight which support older people to remain living independently in their own homes. Due to popular demand, the show returned in August,

with over 500 Islanders in attendance. Right at Home Isle of Wight also runs a Dementia

Afternoon Tea Club once a month to provide a safe place where people living with dementia and their families can interact with people in the same situation. “It has proven really successful and the last one saw 40 people turn up,” says Paul.

Job satisfaction Caring for people in their community is what Vicky and Paul enjoy the most about being Right at Home franchise owners. It’s what gives them the biggest sense of achievement. “Some of the most rewarding moments are when we

hear a client speak so highly of their lovely CareGivers and what a difference they are making to their lives,” explains Vicky. “The team also really appreciates the support we offer.

It all feeds into one, so we look after the team and the team looks after the clients. We get a different sense of satisfaction that we’ve never had from a job before, because we are helping people every single day.”
