The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise
Royal celebration of the best in the business
T e Queen’s Awards for Enterprise have been given to fewer than 8,000 companies since their inception in 1965, with winners announced on April 21 – the Queen’s birthday – every year. Now awarded in fi ve categories, for International
Trade, Innovation, Export and Technology, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (T rough Social Mobility), the awards are valid for fi ve years. Winners are invited to a royal reception and are presented with the award at their company premises, usually by the county’s Lord-Lieutenant. Winners are also able to fl y the Queen’s Awards fl ag at their main offi ce and use the emblem on marketing materials such as packaging and adverts. Niftylift, based in Milton Keynes, designs, develops,
manufactures and distributes mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) around the world, holds the distinction of winning two Queen’s Awards in the same year twice, in 2013 and in 2019. In 2019, after being named as a winner of both the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation and
