Finish and neaten the ends of the wire as in Steps 8/9/10/11. Make sure all the wire is straightened and coloured before you thread
through the crinoline tube. You will thread through and sew and neaten the overlapping crinoline as described in Steps 8/9/10/11.
26
Attach the frame to the headband using the same stitch that you used in Step 22, join the stands to the frame and slip stitch together. You will need to position all stands on the headband to find the aesthetics of
the hat. Your hat should not wobble and it must stay on the head. Positioning is vital and you will need to keep moving the stands till you get to the right position. I made two stands for this frame.

Using this technique you can manipulate the wire into a variety of shapes. Here you can see I have also used it for a lettering hat and the wide- suspended-brimmed green hat.
In the next issue we will be dealing with a few of the skills and subjects you want to know but were afraid to ask, using quick hacks to solve those annoying hat problems. We will even show you a slip-proof headband, for that extra fine hair.
