76 PRIVATE HIRE AND TAXI MONTHLY REGIONAL TABLES – MAY 2009

Yes folks it's May again! and that means a week or six of incredi- bly intense effort to put together ten years of figures for your interest, edification, instruction, education, clarification and just in case you can’t sleep, something to aid you in that direction. I started doing this in 1999, and have slept well ever since but I do hope that it gives you the only thing that was missing before then and that was something to compare your fares with. Below is an explanation bar which should assist with head scratching, if it does not do this visually please cut the section

out, dip it in some starch and use that instead. In simple terms - here are your fares for the last ten year years (eleven sets of figures but 1999 to 2009 is ten years) - here is where you were in the National league table In May each year - here is the increase you have had over ten years ....some at over three pounds and some at only 20 pence. In 1999 the lowest two mile fare was £2.20 and now it is £2.80 the highest was £4.40 and now It is £6.80 but all of this is there for you to explore over the next six pages and if you want an e-mail copy just get In touch.
