Yes folks it's May again! and that means a week or six of incredi- bly intense effort to put together ten years of figures for your interest, edification, instruction, education, clarification and just in case you can’t sleep, something to aid you in that direction. I started doing this in 1999, and have slept well ever since but I do hope that it gives you the only thing that was missing before then and that was something to compare your fares with. This table shows the best increases from May 1999 to May 2009. The average increase on a yearly basis for the whole ten years is 19.4 pence per year totalling £1.94 rise in ten years. If you look at the regional table and check out your 1999 fare - add £1.94 and that is where you should be today.
