INSURETAXI RAISE MONEY FOR THE RNLI SOS DAY
insureTAXI – with offices in both Crewe and Southport – invit- ed their staff to dress up with a nautical theme to raise money for the RNLI SOS day. This took place on Fri- day 4th February. All staff were invited to wear nautical clothing, with donations to the very worthy RNLI SOS day which raises money to help keep the lifeboats fully operational.
There were also com- petitions such as cake making – where cakes were baked and sold to staff – and a “guess the sailor” competi- tion.

TYNESIDE TAXI FIRM’S FARE DEAL FOR CHARITY
A Tyneside taxi firm has pledged to help a local charity for a year. Noda Taxis has announced that it will donate 10p of cash bookings made online to the Variety Club. The cash raised will go towards improving the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged children. Noda Taxis office man-
ager Chris Lamb told the Newcastle upon Tyne Evening Chroni- cle: “This is such a worthy cause, as all the funds raised go directly to helping the children from the region who really need it.
“All the staff at Noda are thrilled with the idea. We are in discus- sion to get Variety Club logos for our
vehicles as an extra way to promote online bookings and support the charity. “We hope to raise a substantial amount for the Variety Club and will present them with this amount at the end of the year.”
Bob Gladwin, chair- man of the Northern Variety Club, said: “We are absolutely thrilled.”

A Glasgow school was given a cash surprise by the city’s biggest cab firm. Glasgow Taxis’ new mascot Rabbie the Cabbie took a trip to St Oswald’s School to present headteacher Gerry McDonnell with

CHILDREN THRILLED AT ‘LTFUC’ MAD HATTER’S TEA PARTY
On Sunday 23rd Janu- ary 2011 over 600 special needs and underprivileged chil- dren poured through the doors of the Grosvenor HoteI in London and enjoyed a magical afternoon filled with fun, jollity and laughter.
Of course it could only be the London Taxidrivers’ Fund for Underprivileged Chil- dren’s annual Mad Hatter’s tea party tak- ing place again and what another great party it was. The gen- erosity, passion and enthusiasm of every- one present, be it celebrity,
entertainer,
donor or helper, ensured that the party was the great success it was.

attended, including Joe and Shana Swash, Cheeky Girls, Sue Pol- lard, X Factor’s John Adeleye, Big Brother’s Nicky and Aisleyne, Akai, the winner of Sky’s 2010 ‘Got to Dance’, Eastenders Kylie Babbington and Jacqueline Jossa. The children were treated to an afternoon
