That’s another thing... we’ve seen countless articles from all over the UK about vehicle dam- age due to the dreadful state of the roads fol- lowing two severe winters. Well, according to the national press, an extra £100 million is to be spent on filling the potholes in the nation’s roads caused by the severe winter weather.
Evidently the money is being given to councils in England to deal with up to two million pot- holes which, insurers say, have caused up to three million crashes or “near misses”. This is on top of the £831 mil- lion already provided to councils for road main- tenance this year and the £3 billion the Gov- ernment has committed over the next four years. So there’s a glimmer of hope, folks: you may not have to fork out another £500 on tyres
before next winter! it sez ‘ere...
