Garmin has reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2025, highlighting double-digit growth across all segments, including a 10 per cent increase in marine revenue. Consolidated revenue for the quarter reached $1.81bn, marking a 20 per cent increase year-on-year. Gross margin rose to 58.8 per cent and operating margin improved to 26 per cent. Operating income was $472m, up 38 per cent from the prior year quarter.

The marine division generated $63m in operating income for the period. New product introductions during the quarter included the GPSMAP 15×3 chartplotters, the premium Fusion Apollo RA800 marine stereo and the Quatix 8 smartwatch.

“We delivered another quarter of outstanding financial results with double-digit growth in every segment, driven by our strong lineup of innovative and highly differentiated products that customers desire,” says Cliff Pemble, president and chief executive officer. “We are very pleased with our results so far in 2025, which have exceeded our expectations and give us confidence to raise our full year guidance.”

Rolls-Royce reveals powerful new yacht engine for 2026

Rolls-Royce has confirmed it will launch a new high- power engine variant in 2026, introducing the mtu 12V2000 M96Z for use in fast yachts, patrol vessels, police boats, and sportfishing boats.

Designed to meet the demands of high-speed marine applications, the latest 12-cylinder version of the mtu Series 2000 delivers enhanced acceleration with minimal change to weight or footprint. The new model generates 1,634kW, increasing from the previous 1,472kW rating of the 12V2000 M96X.

Dr. Jörg Stratmann, CEO of Rolls-Royce Power Systems, commented, “The new 12-cylinder version of the mtu Series 2000 engines stands for maximum performance, increased power density, and impressive acceleration—another milestone in our commitment to providing our customers with first-class propulsion solutions for demanding maritime applications.”

He added, “This continues the success story of the Series 2000 and develops it into a forward- looking platform for innovative, sustainable propulsion solutions. As a reliable partner, we support our customers in implementing their maritime projects in a powerful, efficient, and future-proof manner.”

The new mtu 12V2000 M96Z, like the high-output mtu 16V4000M97L recently launched for superyachts and fast ferries, is expected to be supported by certified service centres including Navigair in Cannes and La Ciotat as next-generation engines enter the market.
