Winners of the 2026 European Yacht and Powerboat Awards announced

Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the boating world, The European Yacht of the Year (EYOTY) and European Powerboat of the Year (EPOTY) awards are well established events in the annual boot Düsseldorf calendar.

The annual winners were revealed at a gala event held within Messe Düsseldorf, attended by 450 guests.

ABYC President John Adey presented the award to Bob and Sandy MacNeill. “Traditionally, this award has been presented to an individual; however, my experience with Bob is that I rarely utter his name without it being followed by Sandy,” Adey said.

Bob MacNeill has held executive roles at Chris-Craft, Carver, Viking, Outboard Marine Corporation and other companies. He also served as president and later chair of the board at the Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology and ran two consulting businesses.

“We are thrilled to celebrate four decades of Quicksilver at boot Düsseldorf,” said Quicksilver Boat sales director, Alexis Fléchier. “Our history is built on innovation, passion and customer trust. This anniversary is not just a celebration of the past, but a commitment to continuing our tradition of excellence and delivering exceptional boating experiences.”

Launched in 1986 when Brunswick Corporation and Mercury Marine began manufacturing inflatable boats in Europe, Quicksilver has grown to become a prominent brand in France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Switzerland and Italy. The company diversified to offer aluminium and fibreglass boats in 1993, then acquired French fishing boat brand Arvor in 1999.
