Molabo X Kaiser electric jetdrive


In addition to their serial hybrid system with Fischer Panda, Molabo also showed their latest collaboration with Kaiser Bootsmanufaktur, with an ARIES 48V 50kW drive paired with Kaiser’s LRHV Jet Drive to create a compact, low-maintenance propulsion system for tenders, RIBs, and light motorboats.


The LRHV is designed according to the mix-flow principle, with a specially shaped impeller that delivers a high volume of water at very low rotational speeds, making for high efficiency and smooth operation. With only one rotating part there is very little maintenance required, minimal turbulence and cavitation, and no need for any additional cooling pump. Developer Jurgen Kaiser says this matches perfectly with the ARIES operating profile.


ZeroJet: New 30kW model and Gen3 features


New Zealand’s ZeroJet, a world pioneer in electric jet propulsion, took the opportunity at METS 2025 to show off the new 30kW model (40 hp equivalent) that is added to their 15kW (20 hp) and 20 kW (30 hp) models.


All of the models run on safe-to-touch 48 Volt architecture and connect the motors to a patented optimized jet pump, with an integrated smart hub and cooling system. ZeroJet systems are already found in boats by Highfield, Agilis, IAM and Offshore Cruising Tenders (OCT) and the wider model range will open up other arrangements with more OEMs. They jetdrives have a new portable charger, instant electric reverse with an electric bucket that enables digital control and agile engagement, and lighter battery technology to extend range without adding battery weight.


EPTechnologies: solid state batteries now DNV approved Batteries


EPTechnologies, who dramatically demonstrated the safety of their sold state battery at Metstrade 2023 by driving a nail through it at their booth, announced at this year’s show that their next-generation Solid-State Tech Battery pack - SVENNER - is now fully class-approved by DNV, the maritime world’s largest certifier of products for safety, quality, energy efficiency and environmental performance.


At the heart of the Svenner Battery is solid-state cell technology that replaces most liquid electrolytes with advanced solid materials. Safety is the keyword. Svenner can withstand overcharging of up to 6X recommendation and the individual battery cells (where overheating starts) remain stable with no fire or heat buildup, even under extreme electrical or mechanical stress.


Without getting deeply into the specifics it means that the battery can contain any thermal incident within one module, making installation easier and fully compliant with current DNV rules for boat and shipbuilders. On top of that, the battery can undergo 10,000+ cycle lives, which maximize the financial efficiency and reduces lifecycle costs.
