the sternpost to bend the pieces to fi t. For this, I used a straight edge again.

Use this procedure to make as many assemblies as are needed for the particular model. (Figure 7)

T e gudgeons were now mounted on the sternpost. T en I inserted the pintles into the gudgeons. (Figure 8) It is best to do this now, before fi tting the pintles to the rudder, to ensure that the assemblies move freely. If necessary, make adjustments to allow free movement. Sometimes a little wood must be cut out on the sternpost.

Now fi t the rudder onto the pintles. (Figure 9) By fi tting the rudder into the pintles while they are joined to the gudgeons, their spacing on the rudder is automatically correct.

T is is a “revised new addition” to the well-received ShipCraſt Series (#23) and this review is quite similar to the ones presented here previously. T is book is primarily directed towards the model ship builder rather than, say, the naval historian. T e book has soſt covers and is printed on high quality glossy stock and exudes quality. Since it is intended primarily for modelers it remains to be seen whether the binding can withstand being forced open on a workbench while building a model from it.

It starts out by presenting a design history of these two vessels that is somewhat brief (11 pages), then proceeds to career highlights (5 pages). T is revised edition includes black-and-white photographs, some of which are new and were not included in the previous edition featuring these two battleships, and their quality runs from good to excellent.

T e book then moves to model products where photographs of items such as kits in various mediums and scales are presented in color. T is section includes aſt ermarket accessories such as resin, 3D-printed, photoetch, and laser-engraved wooden decks. Some of these items are no longer available but are included as historical modeling references. Some may be had from online auction sites. Diecast miniatures appear in this section as well.

Following is the model maker’s showcase (21 pages) which presents scratch-built and kit models in full-hull and waterline models on simulated water bases made by well- known ship modelers. T e photographs of these excellent models are all in color and are of high quality.
