CW Logistics is a 3PL based in Greenville, South Carolina. “We are getting more done with current staff,” says Dylan Sluder, Director of IT for UCW Logistics. “We found that digital freight matching


allowed us to handle more freight without hiring more people.”


More than 25% of our loads are handled by digital freight matching


“We set a goal for digital freight matching loads of at least 10% for the first year and we ended up getting over 25%. That’s from the time a broker builds a load and they hit ‘execute.’ It sends it off to digital freight matching with a book-it-now option. Emails go out. A carrier clicks an email response to accept. An automatic rate con goes out to the carrier. They sign it and we’re done. It’s been great.”


We started with the easy loads


“We began by trying to get a certain percentage—10%, 20%—of our loads handled through digital freight matching. We started off with carriers we know and it was mainly dry van with dedicated loads at set rates.”


Carriers who embrace technology are the primary target


“We look for carriers who are embracing technology and wanting to automate on their side as well. We build that relationship up front with them. They save time on the back end, just like we do. We don’t have to be on the phone with every single load.”
