The two colored-pencil-on-paper drawings are examples of Pete’s original art work that I owned and donated back to the family collection for an art exhibit honoring Pete’s life. Mike Doyle

Howard and Linda, My guess is that working on your last issue of Crown Jewels is a bitter sweet time for you. It’s hard to give up something that you have poured your heart into for many years, and at the same time it’s a relief to   soon as one month’s publication has been compiled and sent to the printer, you immediately begin preparation for the next month’s edition. But, as much as the insulator collecting community can’t image the amount of work and dedication the two of you have performed for us, the collectors, I’m not sure you and Linda can comprehend the profound impact that your contribution has made on all of us! People are remembered, good and bad, by the impact and impression that they leave on their community. I believe your legacy will always be remembered as a Shining Star that will be seen and fondly remembered by many generations of collectors. I know your future is bright with opportunities to do all of the things that you have put on hold while you have been servants to our hobby. As you pursue those opportunities, I wish for you Happiness, Rest, Good Health and Blessings for the days ahead.

Howard and Linda, I want to thank you both for all you have done over the years for the hobby. You have done an incredible job with Crown Jewels and I have enjoyed every issue. I will not be renewing and it has nothing to do with the new owner, I am familiar with  he will put a great product out. It also is not about the money, I have always felt CJOW was underpriced. We spend hundreds and even thousands on insulators, what’s 60 or 70 a year for a great reference. For me it’s consistency and staying engaged, a quarterly magazine will not keep me engaged. Jim Harlow

Editor’s note: We have received many emails, letters, and cards with comments such as these. Thank you so much. We plan to stay involved in the hobby... continuing with the Eagle Cap Collectibles auctions and attending shows and swap meets.
