Bill asked if he could come and visit the collection of which I quickly replied “Bring your bedroll and you can sleep with it when you come”. I’ve had a little fun with him in occasionally picking up a good porcelain piece and saying “I’m going to put it on “mud mound”. An almost instantaneous, high pitched response from him was “PLEEEESE! Anything but mud mound”!
With a mere 2.2” of precipitation here in Farmington during the past 12 months it is hard to imagine a “mudslide”. At the time of this writing, the mud has already begun to slide with it all anticipated to be here by year end. With Bill’s invaluable help, I plan on marking all pieces with its corresponding number and marking in Elton Gish’s guidebooks. As usual, I will continue to search for any numbers lacking in glass and porcelain, be it a CD, U or M. Bill is so glad the collection will remain on display in my museum and plans to remain active in the hobby.
Bill and I wish all collectors the best in hope that dedication and patience will yield the items you desire.
