comcast.net A Special Thank You!
Linda and Howard Banks have produced the “Crown Jewels of the Wire” magazine for 16 years now without missing a beat. They have continually improved the quality of the magazine even faster than improvements in computer and printing to support this top quality product for us hobbyists to enjoy. But, as with all good things, change is inevitable. This is the last issue of “Crown Jewels of the Wire” magazine as we know it. That makes this the last “Newbie Notes” as we know them. This “Newbie Notes” article is devoted to reminiscing and saying THANK YOU to this very special couple who have brought us “Crown Jewels of the Wire” for so many years.
The Banks have spent too many years to count fully involved in this wonderful hobby we know as insulator collecting. Through the last 16 years as authors of “Crown Jewels of the Wire” magazine, they have made this hobby come alive for many of us through their hard work and devotion to this premier publication. While “Crown Jewels of the Wire” is being replaced by a new quarterly publication to be produced by Shaun Kotlarsky, this monthly magazine will still be sorely missed by many of us, myself included.
In addition to the Banks’ dedication to “Crown Jewels of the Wire” magazine, they have been long time National Insulator Association members earning Outstanding Service awards and the Lifetime Membership award, the NIAs highest honor.
